Cedric Richner, CFRE
Over the past twenty years, Cedric Richner has counseled dozens of boards, development staffs, and chief executives regarding their fund development programming and overall strategic direction. With deep expertise in managing organizational change, prospective major donor strategy, and building sustainable fundraising cultures, his clients have ranged from small, start-up non-profit organizations to multi-campus, continuing care retirement communities.
Prior to forming Richner & Richner, he spent twelve years as a senior fundraising staff person, volunteer manager, and board member.
As Executive Director for the Midwest & Southern States Region for the University of Michigan’s $1.4 billion “Campaign for Michigan,” Cedric led a five-member team that covered a twenty-state area in the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of prospective individual and corporate donors of $250,000 or more.
Cedric has served on numerous non-profit boards and advisory councils, and is currently on the Director’s Council for Nichols Arboretum and Matthaei Botanical Gardens at the University of Michigan.
He is a frequent presenter for local, regional, and national organizations regarding philanthropy and fundraising, including the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA) at its 2007 Annual Meeting, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Washtenaw Community College, and Non-profit Enterprise at Work. Richner is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE).
Cedric Richner is a graduate of Hillsdale College. He currently resides in Ann Arbor, MI and was born and raised in Grosse Pointe, MI.
